I live on tree tops in a small island called Penang here in South East Asia. To survive I can catch fish with my bare hands, kill wild boars with just a razor blade and I could skin an orangutan just for the fun of it. I have gotten high off tree bark and have multiple sex partners with the female villagers on my island. I have achieved so much in life and have done everything I have ever wanted except for being able to use Google Wave. Google Wave team please send me an invite. You’re awesome.

“December always brings out the best in people.“

As we approach the last month of  year 2009, there is something else which is also looming towards its end.

The 2000s.

When the clock strikes 12 midnight on the last day of December, it will signal the end of the first decade of the new millennium and boy has it been a great run for me. It was almost 10 years ago but I can still clearly remember how I cracked open the dawn of Y2K.

I had just turned 14 and was hanging around Belissa row in Pulau Tikus as they had this massive street party to say adios to 1999 which was happening outside Modestoes and Club Mix. My buddy Desmond was with me at that time and we were wandering around trying to find our other friends who for some reason or another (which I am unable to recall) was not with us at that point of time.

We somehow got lost and ended up celebrating with some drunks on the street. Countdown was just over and the Deejay was playing The Offspring’s “Come out and Play.” Being young and 14 I ran in to the middle of the crowd started headbanging to it and a couple of party goers seeing how enthused I was handed me a beer to drink which I poured down my throat screaming “HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!”

So yes, I started the new millennium drinking beer and I will make sure by hook or crook I will end the first decade of it by doing the same.

As the year draws to a close, I have decided that in my next post I will be putting up my Top Ten bands of the decade that has significantly influenced me during this past decade. It will go by bands and I’ll most probably put up a youtube of my fav song from it as well.

So my damm readers….enjoy these last few weeks of the first decade of the millennium. I hope it has been awesome for you just as it has been for me.

10. To find my purpose in life, haw haw!
