Friday the thirteenth August 2010 was the day I officially went to work as an auditor for the very last time. As much as I try to deny it, being an anal calculative auditor has already been embeded into my personality. From recomputing the dinner bill when it arrives, to creating an excel expense report to split the dinner costs after, I have become what I am. And at the end of the day, I am very glad that I have picked up these skills for these skills acquired are invaluable. They don’t teach you this kind of professionalism in university. You have to learn it by working.

What makes leaving even more sad, is  that I will be leaving the people that I have been graciously given the opportunity to have crossed paths and work with (and get shamelessly wasted with as well) for the past 3 and a half years. From all those dinners, company trips, the MICPASS accounting games, I’ve had the time of my life! Tze En told me on the night of my farewell party at QE2 on Saturday (which around 30 – 40 of em attended!! ), Once a PwCian Always a PwCian.

Returning my laptop and the rest of my stuff on Monday came with a tinge of sadness. After saying my goodbyes, I slowly trotted out to the lifts. As the lift doors opened, I glanced back to the office main door which had the words PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS proudly hanging above it. I said my last goodbye, walked in the lift and as the doors shut my heart felt empty for awhile. I realised that it was the emptiness which hits you when something you hold very dear is finally gone. For after 3 years and 8 months of collectively working, suffering and having fun with my colleagues, we had effectively become a family. A family. :)

I hate KL but yet at the same time, it is something I need to do every now and then to escape from Penang.

Hate the traffic.

Hate the Haze.

Hate the pretentiousness

However, whenever I come down I end up having great fun.

April 15th Thursday……Night of Mayhem…..

I was too lazy to take any photos but fuck Placebo was awesome. Just gonna steal Likki’s and Jamie’s photos here.

And I can’t believe how many guitars they actually carry around for their world tour. They must have changed guitars at like for every song.

I’m as jealous as hell.

On other related news, I have confirmed that I have an addictive personality. Not new, but yea pretty much confirmed it. God help me please!

Never in my life have I performed anything wasted and high before on a stage to a crowd full of people. My mates from the now (temporarily?) disbanded Whitelight have been known to be completely fucked before going on stage, truely living the whole rock and roll thing. Me on the other hand, have never gone up on a stage to perform or play with anything more than a maximum of 3 or 4 beers throughout the night. Plus most of the times I do go on a stage to play bass or whatever is usually for Sunday morning church service (which I have played hungover but not drunk…..shhhhh please).

So last Saturday when I went up during the Penang Intercompany Accounting (aka MICPASS) Annual Dinner, was the first time ever that I had gone up on stage and performed completely F$#KeD out of my mind.

I initially intended to do a cover of Lifehouse’s Spin acoustically but I had been so wasted that I had forgotten the 2nd verse so I had to cut short the whole thing and finished it early. The Malay clerks from EY (which were really cool dudes btw. I joined them for a smoke after the dinner) who were pretty much wasted themselves shouted that I should do another song and my performance was too short. So I decided to appease the crowd, sat down, mumbled something about “Satu Malaysia” and did Belaian Jiwa, which I also forgot the 2nd verse of the damm song as well. Oh well.

Yea, there you go. It appears I pulled it off pretty well! Some came up telling me it was a pretty decent performance. But honestly hahaha I think I knew better. Even in my wasted state I could remember fucking up one or two chords here and there. So, If someone has a video of me peforming that day please buzz me. Haha I really want to know how I play when I am totally wasted.
